Breed names are useless for sizing. Two beagles the same age can be four centimetres apart at the chest. Measure once, write the numbers down, and every order after this one takes thirty seconds.
The three measurements
- Neck — around the base of the neck, where a collar naturally sits. Add two fingers of slack.
- Chest girth — the widest point, just behind the front legs. This is the number that decides the size. If you only measure one thing, measure this.
- Back length — from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Have them standing, not sitting.
Use a soft tape. If you don't have one, use a piece of string and hold it against a ruler.
Size chart
| Size | Neck (cm) | Chest girth (cm) | Back length (cm) | Typical weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 20–25 | 30–37 | 22–27 | 2–4 kg |
| S | 25–30 | 37–45 | 27–33 | 4–7 kg |
| M | 30–36 | 45–54 | 33–40 | 7–12 kg |
| L | 36–43 | 54–64 | 40–48 | 12–20 kg |
| XL | 43–50 | 64–76 | 48–58 | 20–30 kg |
Weight is a rough guide only — a stocky corgi and a lean whippet can weigh the same and need different sizes. Chest girth wins every time.
Between two sizes?
- Shells and capes — size up. They go over other layers.
- Knits and cardigans — size down. They stretch.
- Puffers — size up. These run closer than the rest.
- Deep-chested breeds (whippets, greyhounds, dachshunds) — go by chest girth and expect the back length to run long. Message us and we'll tell you honestly whether it will work.
Matching sets
Set sizes are written as a pairing — the first size is your dog's, the second is yours. If your combination isn't listed, order the two pieces separately and message us; we'll refund the difference to the set price.
If it doesn't fit
Wrong size on the first try is normal and we don't make it awkward. One free size exchange within 14 days in Peninsular Malaysia, unworn with tags on. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll arrange the pickup.
Still unsure? Send us your three measurements and a photo of your dog standing side-on, and we'll tell you which size to order.
